Vehicles in German City Discovered Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Police State

Officers mentioned they were notified by a man who discovered a car in Hanau marked with red-colored substance

Around 50 vehicles have been smeared with what seems to be human blood in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Automobiles, walls and mailboxes were marked, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they stated in a release.

Officers state they were alerted late on Wednesday evening, when a man observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored substance.

The substance had been placed in the pattern of a swastika, they reported.

Police then found multiple other smeared vehicles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws prohibiting the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police report preliminary tests indicate the substance was likely blood from a person.

"At present there remains no lead as to its origin; authorities are not yet cognizant of any injuries in relation with the incident," they added.

Local authorities stated they were attempting "to unravel the case" and have asked to the public for information.

A high-ranking representative commented the vandalism left him speechless and had to be resolved quickly.

"This event hits the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist violent incident in 2020," he wrote on a platform, mentioning the killing of nine victims by a shooter targeting people of migrant background in five years prior.
